"I don't want to eat my celery!" How many times have you heard that? So why not try serving celery in a different way to the norm? Here, I fry it with shimeji mushrooms, flavour with soy sauce and mirin and sprinkle over a little bonito fish flake for some umami flavour
Ingredients
3 stalks of celery, rinsed
100g shimeji mushroom, rinsed
1 tbsp veg oil
2 tsp soy sauce
1 tsp mirin
1 packet of bonito flakes, (about 3g)
Preparation
thinly slice the celery stalks diagonally
slice off the bottoms of the mushrooms and separate the stalks using your fingers
heat the oil in a frying pan, add & fry the celery & shimeji for 3 mins
add the soy sauce & mirin and stir
turn off the heat, add the bonito flakes and mix
