Green beans contain lots of good things - vitamins A, C, K, folate, magnesium - the list goes on. But when faced with green beans, most people either simply boil them or mix them into a salad. Here is a recipe that let's the beans shine by making them with a sweet sesame paste that's also high in protein adding more goodness to your diet. What's more this dish is ready in minutes. You'll never have to say, "Eat your beans!" to your kids again.
Ingredients
200g green beans, ends trimmed
3 tbsps toasted white sesame seeds
1.5 tbsps sugar
0.5 tbsp soy sauce
0.25 tbsp mirin
a pinch of salt
Preparation
grind the sesame seeds for 1 - 2 mins
add the sugar, mirin and miso and grind everything together again for 1 - 2 mins
boil the green beans for 3 mins until al dente
rinse the beans in cold water
mix the beans and the sesame paste together
your green beans in sweet sesame are now ready to serve as a side dish
