Onion sauce certainly isn't the first think that comes to mind when you think of Japanese food, is it? This sauce does a great job pair with tuna or beef steks.
Ingredients
110g peeled onion
30g peeled carrot
2 cloves of garlic
1/2 tsp ginger paste
1 tbsp vegetable oil
3 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp mirin
1 tbsp Japanese cooking sake
1 tsp rice vinegar
Preparation
slice the garlic, carrot & onion thinly
heat the oil in a pan and stir-fry the garlic, ginger paste, carrot & onion over a medium heat for 3 mins
add the soy sauce, mirin, cooking sake & vinegar and simmer for 3 mins
put it in a blender and blend well
