About the Recipe
Japanese Spaghetti Napolitan isn't one for sticklers for tradition. But if you love your pasta and you love a plate of pure pasta comfort food now and again, this is definitely a dish you should try!
Ingredients
1 small onion
1 clove of garlic
1/3 green bell pepper
1/3 red bell pepper
4 button mushrooms
5 frankfurter sausages
for the sauce:
1/2 tin of plum tomatoes, (1 tin = 400g / 14 oz)
4 tbsp of tomato ketchup
1 tbsp of brown sauce (I use Bull-dog brown sauce)
50g / 2 ozcheddar cheese
1 tbsp vegetable oil
some salt & pepper
some basil or parsely for topping
Preparation
cut off the both ends of the onion, then halve and slice
slice the bell peppers
peel and finely slice the garlic clove
slice the mushrooms
slice the frankfurter sausages diagonally
put the tinned tomatoes in a bowl. add the tomato kechup & brown sauce. (if the tinned plum tomatoes are whole, you will need to cut them up.) mix well
grate the cheddar cheese into a second bowl
heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan. add all the chopped vegetables and sausages and stir fry for about 5 minutes over a medium heat or until the sasuges are cooked
season with a little salt & pepper to taste
meanwhile, cook the spaghetti in a saucepan according to the packet instruction and drain
back to the frying pan, pour in the sauce mixture and mix well. next, add the grated cheese. then, add the drained spaghetti and mix together well
sprinkle over the parsley or basil. serve immediately
